Quotes & pricing
How much does lawn mowing cost in Toledo?
Mowing is priced per cut by lawn size. A typical 6,500 sq ft lawn runs $40–$50 per cut, and about 10,000 sq ft is around $75. Our free Lawn Check tool measures your yard and gives you an instant estimate.
Are estimates free?
Yes. Every quote is free with no obligation. Text or call John, or use the quote form, and you'll hear back within one business day.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. Weekly mowing is pay-as-you-go with no long-term contract. Fertilization programs and seasonal snow contracts are optional and priced up front.
Why might my final price differ from the online estimate?
The estimate is based on lawn size only. Steep slopes, narrow gates, lots of obstacles, or a badly overgrown first cut can change the price. John confirms your exact price after a quick, free walkthrough.
Weekly mowing
What's included in a mowing visit?
Mowing at the right height for the season, string trimming around beds and obstacles, hard edging along walks and driveways, and a full blow-off of all hard surfaces.
What day will you come?
The same day of the week, around the same time, every week — so you always know when to expect us.
What if it rains on my day?
We come back the next day. Mowing a soaked clay lawn leaves ruts that can last all season, so we'd rather move your cut by a day.
Do you bag the clippings?
In spring and fall, yes — clippings mix with leaves and debris that can smother the lawn. In summer we use mulching kits that cut clippings fine so they return extra nitrogen to the soil.
Why do you change mowing direction?
We rotate our mowing line 30 to 90 degrees every visit. It keeps the grass standing upright, prevents ruts and wheel tracks, and gives a cleaner, more even cut.
When does mowing season start and end?
Usually mid-April through early November in the Toledo area, depending on weather. The first and last cuts follow how fast the grass is actually growing.
Fertilization, weeds & aeration
When should I aerate my lawn?
Late August through September is ideal in Northwest Ohio. Warm soil and cool nights help roots recover and give new seed time to establish before winter.
Will fertilization get rid of my dandelions and crabgrass?
A seasonal program with spring crabgrass prevention and broadleaf weed control clears most weeds within a season. A thicker lawn also crowds out new weeds over time.
Are lawn treatments safe for kids and pets?
Yes, when used as directed. We flag treated lawns and let you know when it's safe to go back out — typically once the application has dried.
My lawn is thin and patchy. Where should I start?
Usually with fall core aeration and overseeding, followed by a fertilization program. Try our Lawn Check — it'll recommend a plan based on what you're seeing.
Beds, pruning & landscaping
How often should mulch be replaced?
Most beds need a fresh top-up once a year, usually in spring. We keep total depth at 2–3 inches and never pile it against tree trunks.
Can you cut back shrubs that have taken over the windows?
Yes. We reduce overgrown shrubs over one or two seasons so they stay healthy and fill back in instead of being left bare.
Do you install new landscape beds?
Yes — new beds, shrubs, perennials, ornamental trees, stone borders, and sod. We choose plants that handle clay soil and Ohio winters.
Spring & fall cleanups
How many fall leaf cleanups will I need?
Most yards need one or two. Heavily wooded lots — common in West Toledo, Sylvania, Ottawa Hills, and Maumee — may need three, since oaks drop their leaves late.
Do you haul away the leaves?
Yes. Leaves and debris are bagged and hauled away.
Snow & ice removal
Who do you plow for?
Residential properties and small commercial lots like small offices and storefronts. We don't take on large commercial lots, which keeps our route fast.
When should I sign up for snow removal?
By November. Our snow route is limited and fills up before the first big storm.
Do you salt walks and steps?
Yes. We apply ice melt to walks, steps, and entrances as part of snow service.
