3. Install: Proper hole depth, amended soil, and correct spacing for mature size.
4. Care plan: Watering guidance and an optional first-year maintenance plan.

Plants that thrive in Northwest Ohio

Northwest Ohio is USDA hardiness zone 6, with cold winters, humid summers, and heavy clay in most yards. Plants that look great at a big-box store don’t always survive here. We choose shrubs, perennials, and ornamental trees that handle clay soil and Ohio winters, and we amend planting holes so roots can establish in that dense soil.

Newer homes in Perrysburg, Holland, and Northwood often come with bare or builder-grade beds. Older homes in Toledo, Sylvania, and Maumee often need overgrown plantings replaced. Either way, we’ll design something that fits your house and your budget.
